They have been sculpted at miniature scale (for those with limited shelf space) and are ideally suited to display alongside our iconic The Lord of the Rings environments like Rivendell and Bag End. These three Sets have been created in response to ongoing collector requests for a diorama of the full Fellowship on their trek across Middle-earth. The third and final set in the series, which brings up the rear with Strider, Samwise and Bill the pony can now also be ordered. The Fellowship of the Ring – Set 2 includes Gimli, Boromir, Merry and Pippin. The first set includes the first 3 characters Gandalf the Grey, Frodo Baggins and Legolas. This is the first in a series of three Sets, which together make up the entire Fellowship of the Ring (all three Sets can be seen together, in the 3rd image on the left, showing all 9 members of the Fellowship and of course Bill, the pony). The Elf’s hawk-sharp gaze scans the horizon, alert to threat and boon. With digital software, Steven used these references as an overlay for the sculpture to ensure fidelity to the film scene. ![]() Sculptor Steven Saunders had the benefit of set drawings and blueprints from 3Foot6 Ltd’s art department, where the cart was designed and built for the trilogy. No stone, sword or signpost was left unturned when the Weta Workshop crew sought to craft Gandalf and Frodo in faithful detail – with a few surprises to reward keen-eyed collectors.
